ANN PRIM writer/director/editor
For the past 10 years Ann has written, directed and edited narrative and experimental films. Ann’s shorts have screened throughout the U.S. and the EU. Her last narrative short ‘Viktor’ about a gender-variant youth finding personal expression in a repressive family environment was an official selection at the Seattle Transgender Film Festival, the Trans* Stockholm Film Festival and the Children’s International Film Festival of Brussels. She has received two Jerome Foundation Film grants and a McKnight Media Arts Fellowship and has recently completed her first feature length script.
Ann is passionate about telling stories of women's lives – especially stories that reveal the strength needed to survive and thrive. She creates characters who tend to dwell outside social norms and exist in the space between and in the process of becoming. As a writer-director-editor she challenges herself to discover alternatives to the linearity of narrative construction.
